Additional Sites for Teaching Adults English
There are so many ESL/EFL sites on the internet these days; I've tried to narrow them down and include only those that I feel are particularly helpful with English lesson plans, tips for teaching ESL or EFL, teaching theory (especially as it applies to adult English language learners), and other helpful resources for teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL).
List of ESL and EFL Teacher Resources
Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly (CLESE) This website provides resources for teaching elderly immigrants and refugees. It was started by a coalition of organizations serving this population.
Compelling Conversations This is a website promoting an excellent and inexpensive conversation book for teachers and tutors of English Language Learners. It has some free conversation lessons that you can download, as well as some great teaching tips to get your students talking. This is a book I own and use regularly.
Hospital English Site with free on-line materials for medical professionals studying English and resources for their teachers.
The Internet TESL Journal A monthly ESL journal with articles, research papers, lessons plans, classroom handouts, teaching ideas and more resources.
Lanternfish This ESL resource contains printable teaching resources for language arts, TESOL, TEFL and ESL.
English Ryan Website with free audio and video English lessons on popular ESL and EFL topics.
